In short blittrell.com and .org are sites I am putting together in order to help myself be a bit more outgoing. My name is Brett Littrell and I have worked in Information Technology for over 20 years, beginning back in 1994.
One thing I have found over the years is that when you concentrate so much on managing, designing and innovating I.T. you tend to lose other abilities that can be equally important. These include talking to people, speaking in front of people and pushing forward initiatives in a more politically acceptable way.
This might sound a bit foolish to those that do work in I.T. and security since it really does nothing to help you understand how SAML works, or how to configure 802.1x or even join a tree to a forest but it is needed to make changes in most companies I.T. and Security environments.
I have found throughout my career that eventually an I.T. or Security person has to choose to lead or to simply follow the direction of any company they work for. This leadership does not always require being a manager people but does require the person to take responsibility, ownership and initiative. This leadership has to be selfless to a certain extent, willing to work with other users or teams and above all else build bridges with respect as well as gratitude.
There is much more to this then just this page can show, so I decided to build a site to this leadership and for people wanting to learn the insides and outs of I.T. and Security.
Please enjoy and I hope this helps you in your life in I.T. or Security.
